David Bash is a storyteller in the Jewish tradition of the badchan and the maggid. His style is dramatic, provocative, humorous and he draws on the full range of human emotions. Yet David’s work is also intellectually stimulating and challenging. At all times he is entertaining.

A trained actor, schoolteacher and psychotherapist, David’ s storytelling is gripping from start to finish. He is equally at home with chief executives and young children, drawing audiences into full involvement and participation within his performances and workshops.

David’s storytelling displays the frailties and complexities of human relationships alongside the humour and drama inherent in extraordinary myths, legends, folk tales and spiritual anecdotes. Click here for details of performance programmes.

David has been entertaining adults and children with tales from multicultural and Jewish traditions for many years. He has run storytelling and training sessions for many organisations including the Academy for Chief Executives , the Agency for Jewish Education, the Centre for Jewish Education and Limmud (the organisation that hosts huge interdenominational Jewish educational conferences).

He has recently developed a particular interest in telling Jewish stories in an interfaith context and is part of the Interfaith Storytelling Troupe under the auspices of St. Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace.

"His voice and style weave a spell that transports listeners into an exciting and magical world."
Leo Baeck College - Centre for Jewish Education
