TUITION
Tuition
I currently tutor, online, people of all ages who have a specific learning difficulty (SpLD) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, processing problems and dyscalculia.
A student can be as young as 6, a teenager, an adult of working age or someone nearing retirement. My aim is, to help a learner to tackle more confidently and more effectively, the challenges he or she is likely to meet in school, college or in the work environment as a student or employee with an SpLD.
I am based in north London but am also currently teaching students from much further afield, online, via Zoom

CONSULTATIONS
Consultations
I regularly see (online via Zoom) children, teenagers, their parents and also adults, for consultations regarding dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and other difficulties. These consultations can involve diagnostic tests, conversation and creating action plans together. A consultation can be a journey, together, of discovery, where we may find that a learner, as well as having a specific learning difficulty, can also have ‘hidden’ strengths. After such a meeting I provide an informal ‘emailed’ evaluation of a learner’s academic issues, including literacy attainment, maths attainment where relevant, levels of cognitive skills and underlying visual and verbal ability. Included in this feedback are both recommendations for a one-to-one learning support programme and strategies to make the most of existing abilities.
We might then go on to have regular sessions, often with myself and the pupil. Yet sometimes I may simply have some sessions with parents, providing them with guidance on how they can best carry out activities, that I recommend, directly with their youngster. In this way a parent can be given practical support to help their child’s learning.

Thank you so much for your kindness and hard work with him. Gabriel passed his SATS with flying colours and although we had played it down I think this has been good for his self esteem too. We will keep on with the touch typing over the summer.
I would like to thank you very much for the work you have done with Sammy. I believe it has been a great success and I know he will miss seeing you. We would be very happy to recommend your tutoring.
I wholly recommend David Bash because not only did he work very well with Jamie but he also offered excellent feedback after each session and is a font of brilliant ideas and advice as to how you can help your child at home – links to websites, suggestions for writing aids and ergonomic seating, a typing programme that works and for us most importantly a referral to an eye specialist who pinned down one of the main reasons why our son was struggling with writing.
We would like to take this opportunity of very much thanking you for all the support and expert guidance you have given Joseph over the past year or so. We know that Joseph has definitely benefitted from it and will continue to benefit going forward. Joseph has also very much enjoyed all of the sessions with you.
David tutored Gabriella for three years. She has dyslexia and dyspraxia. With David’s assistance, and the support of the school’s new SENCO who came on board after David had helpfully suggested we got our daughter assessed, she has made considerable progress – so much so that she successfully sat the exam and was accepted for a popular independent school. We are very pleased with Dave’s professionalism and supportiveness and are delighted with progress our daughter has made with his assistance.
You have been a huge help to Luke and us in understanding where his difficulties lie and as a result we have now got at least some of the teachers to take this on board. We’d love to keep the door open for possibly coming back to you in the future.
We all three would like to thank you for your immense help and support of Anna. You made a huge difference and we have and will continue to highly recommend you.
Thank you so much for your comprehensive and detailed report. I think it will prove extremely useful in getting Maia the support she deserves and it has helped to make sense of a number of issues over the years.
